Real GMV Max overview from TikTok Ads Manager, September 14 to October 14, 2025, with the shop name blurred. Figures in USD. Comparison column is the previous 30 days. The brand name is shared on the call. Results are from a specific client campaign, vary by brand, and are not guaranteed.
The starting point
A US food brand with a product that does the one thing the feed rewards: it gets a reaction on camera. Taste tests, first bites, and satisfying reveals were already working organically. The ad account was the weak link. The previous 30 days on the dashboard show a return of about 2.7x, respectable but with spend held back because nobody trusted it to scale.
What we did
- Filled the content bank first. Recruited food creators, briefed taste test and reaction formats, and got 20 to 30 plus videos live before the first ad dollar.
- Pointed GMV Max at proven videos only. Every campaign spent behind content that was already selling organically.
- Scaled by the rules. 3 to 4 days of stabilization, decisions on 5 to 6 days of data, budget up 20 to 30 percent at a time.
- Judged on cost per order. It fell 31.56 percent while spend nearly doubled. That is the green light to keep scaling, and we took it.
The results
- $58,173.76 in gross revenue from GMV Max in 30 days, up 184.63 percent on the previous 30
- 4.01x return on ad spend, up 48.52 percent, on $14,514.33 of spend, up 91.73 percent
- 1,325 orders, up 180.13 percent, at $10.95 cost per order, down 31.56 percent
- A peak 19 day stretch at 4.72x on 801 orders inside the same window
Why it worked
Orders rose 180 percent on 92 percent more spend. That gap between the two numbers is the whole case: the extra budget bought orders at a lower price, not the same orders at a higher one, which only happens when the creative supply is strong enough that the algorithm has real winners to spend against. Food is the category where this is easiest to earn, because a genuine reaction to a first bite is the most convincing ad on the platform and creators produce it without being asked. The category playbook is in our guide to TikTok Shop for food and beverage brands, the ad rules are in the GMV Max budget guide, and the service that runs it is ads and GMV Max.
